What he doesn’t realize because he has never been in any business discussions in the real world is; if you can’t make money you stop doing the business.<br /><br />What he will do is hurt the people that need credit the most. Credit Card companies will no longer lend to high risk borrowers if they can’t charge a rate that protects the creditor.<br /><br />If you had a thousand dollars to lend through a credit card company you created and could only make 10% on the money who would you lend to? The person capable of paying you back or someone you are not sure can? Now if you can charge 20% for the same thousand dollars are you more willing to lend to a multitude of people since the money you make can offset a few losses?<br /><br />If his plan to limit interest rates goes through he will hurt the same people he says he wants to help. This is such common sense why can't he see?<br /><br />It’s simple business strategy and capitalism. The restriction in the constitution against an establishment of religion was included to insure all of the Christian denominations at the founding of our nation could participate in government no matter the Christianity they practiced. It was also a repudiation of their former country England establishing a "State" religion. A lack of freedom to practice one's chosen religion.<br /><br />Today we see radicals and atheists trying to stop the recognition of this greatest of all Christian holidays, the celebration of the birth of Christ, with the "separation" clause. How does celebrating our heritage by recognizing our Judeo Christian foundation become an "establishment" of religion? It is recognition of our heritage. All religions are not "equal" in our history. They may be practiced but we developed this nation under the principles of Christian beliefs. So in other words; Christianity was the founding principle our founders used to develop a sound constitution. I understand the envy of other religions to want to stop this recognition. I don't understand atheism; sad. But their choice.<br /><br />We will continue to legislate according to the Constitution not the Bible but the Bible is the foundation of building a strong secular government. Belief in a greater purpose, right and wrong, etc...<br /><br />To all Muslims, Buddhists, Scientologists, and Fetivus sects (and any other religion I have failed to recognize); We don't stop you from participating in this great country or practicing your religion; but this country can only survive by recognizing that there is a God, a creator that grants ALL men the unalienable rights including freedom so we can all live together knowing no one man is greater than another. That is why we can't forget we are a Christian nation; we have been "endowed by our creator". That is fact, that is real, that is our history, that is not an establishment of religion.
